Red Ribbon Campaign

Red Ribbon is the symbol of the fight against Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome ( AIDS)and of the mourning for people who are (were) influenced with Human Immonodeficiency Virus(HIV). This symbolic campaign has been a tradition and a custom to mourn people who did not saticfied with their own lives because of disease and illness, or happeningsand accidents.
The reason why this type of campaign have spreaded all over the world was in the end of '80s, the United States of America. Since that time, AIDS had being a social problem since more and more people got influenced with HIV. Not only general people but also famous people got this type of infection and died. Especially in New York, who were active in the genres such as music, art, show and play, got sick and dead. Since then, companions started expressing their feeling of mourning toward their friends, family, neighborhoods, and many people in the world.
This campaign has spreaded through whole world as borderless world-wide movement. The red ribbon is now used as the symbol of United Nations of Acquired immunodeficiency Syndrome, too. I hope people will have no prejudice and no discrimination from now on and hoist Red Ribbon on their chest and heart, and me, too.

The answer of my mystery

I suppouse most of you could not find the answer of my mystery. I understand that really much because the trick of this murder case is bery simple. I mean, if you were seeing the murder case outside the room, you could have easily solved the mystery as the police officers did.
Here is the answer. The room was the load-carrying platform of a big track! The criminal remodeled it into an ordinal room. He pushed the switch ,then it tilted to one side. Inside, poor Hadson was astonished because the room suddenly tilted! The chane was tied to the desk ( which was fixed tightly with the floor and the wall) so that he was hanged and killed. Then, the criminal put the load-carrying platform back and inside the room, only Hadson's dead body was left.
I know you guys cannnot accept my solution because it is so silly and unnatural. But you guys could not solve this trick, right? That's what I intended to do! SORRY~☆

Ran

Have you ever seen Akira Kurosawa's film before? He is one of the best movie producer in the world and admired by many people who work for movies.
I have seen "Seven Samurais" before and remember that I was overwhelmed by the scale of the film. It was unbelievable for me that he made such a great film so many years ago, the time of monochrome.
First, I would like to introduce you some stories about Kurosawa. He is , as you know, the mos t famous film maker not only in Japan but also all over the world. He produced many great films such as "The double" "Rasho-mon" "Ikiru" "Youjinbou" and so on. His films were so well- made that many people praised them, but his films tended to cost really much so that Kurosawa had difficulty making the movies he really wanted to complete. In such a hard time, two famous film producers stood for Kurosawa, Steven Spirbarg and George Lucas. They had respected Kurosawa so much that they supported him when Kurosawa produced "Ran" and other famous films( Spirbarg and Lucas handed Kurosawa the trophy of 62th Academy Award when he got the Honor Award.) Kurosawa never compromised on working for his films to make his idea real. For example, when he took the scene as men see outside of the running train and find a women, the train was crossing the bridge, and Kurosawa found a roof of somebody's house. Then he said, " I don't like that roof. I want to take it away." Staffs called on the house residents and asked them if they could remove their house roof! After having taking the scene, Kurosawa rebuilt the roof again. Another example is that when Toshirou Mifune( the most important actor for Kurosawa's films) acted a samurai, Kurosawa tried to take a scene that the samurai would be shot by the countless arrows. Kurosawa called archers and let them shoot the real arrows toward Mifune! Kurosawa always look for the reality, you see?
And here, I would like to talk a little about "Ran", the film Kurosawa spent ten years to complete. This film was nominated to countless awards competition in many countries, and got a lot of great awards. The story is about the destruction of a family of Samurais in old Japan. It tells us the cruelty of human desire and greed. They say that its original story was "King Lear" but actually, the real origine was the episode of "The Three Arrows" of Mouri Motonari who told his sons to trust each other or they would be ruined. The idea came up to Kurosawa that if people did not keep the rule of " The Three Arrows", what would happen to them. And then, he remembered the story of "King Lear" and started to construct his own story.
In this film, you can find many characteristics that Kurosawa sticked to really much, such as the beautiful clothes, speech, many things those lines. The most surprising for me was that Kurosawa spent 400,000,000 yen to build a real castle, and finally in the film, he burns the castle out!! Of course, no other movies could be more real than this marverous scene. Seeing the burning castle, two main characters cried out. One, cries out to the Gods and blame them because he saw the heartlesness of the world. He blamed Gods because he thought Gods did nothing to save the world but just having fun watching stupid human beings' final conclusion and fate. But the other cried out that not only they two themselves but also Gods were crying. He recognized human beings always fight to survive and even Gods could not stop them destroy everything. He said that human beings always chase sadness and pain rather than hapiness and peace. In these words, we can see what Kurosawa tried to tell us the most. Hhuman beings, life, death, fate, and moral we see in this film, we consider about them deeply, and we finally have to find any answer of our own how we are going to live our lives. Many people tend to recognize this film as boring and not active one , but the other say that we can see complications and troubles in each characters heart or thought so that this movie becomes active and quiet rather than being negative and noisy.
An actor( maybe SHE is an ACTRESS) Peter is introduced as a important cast in this film. She plays a Noh comic actor. When she was offered this role, she was really worried scence she had some complex about her sexual issues. So before she met Akira Kurosawa, she was upset and really worried how Kurosawa would see her and regard her. Kurosawa, actually, did not have any prejudaice view upon Peter and said, "Here you come, Peter", smiling and shook her hands. Peter was released totally. She was recognized as a person, and it was the matter of personality, not of sex for Kurosawa. And as another story, the great movie "Star Wars" by Goerge Lucas was modeled from one of Kurosawa's film and when Kurosawa visited the United States, Lucas appologized for his conduct. But Kurosawa simply said to Lucas, " It was really interesting". After such happening, George Lucas totally admired Kurosawa. In such stories, I can see the grteat scale of him.
If you are interested in "Ran", I hope you to go to a video shop and rent it and watch in a quiet place. What would you think about the film and you yoursef?

Dead with the chane

Bright sunlight woke Hadson up in a cold mornig. It took him some time to get the conciousness back, and once he got up and looked around, he found something unusual.
He thought where this place was. He was in a room he had never seen before but it was a pretty tipical one as many general people have in their house. There were two book shelves by the wall and near them was a small window. The sunlight woke him up was spoiling from the window. Some pictures and calendar were hooked on the wall, and a big clock told Hadson it was seven thirty a.m.. Near the window was a door. And behind him was a desk and chair hooked tightly on the floor. What suprising and not understandable the most was chane. One edge was tied to the hooked desk, and the other was tied to Hadson's neck so that he might not be able to move around the room. And besides, he felt a great pain at the back of his head.

Suddenly a man's face appeared on the window. He stared at Hadson very carefully. He seemed as looking back Hadson through the window thet his body might facing opposite with the window.Hadson was not sure who this man was but his face reminded Hadson something very regretful and irreparable. He also slowly remembered what happened last night. He was walking back home after work. On the way were only Hadson and a man walking to opposite direction with Hadson. As soon as Hadson passed each other with the man, he heard a big sound in his head and at the same time, he got great shock at the back of his head. And this man looking at himself through the window was the one he passed by each other last night!

"You are the one took me here, aren't you?!" Hadson yelled. " Who are you? And why you took me here?!"
"Shut up!" The man shouted to Hadson. "YOU, cannot ask me anything by yourself. You can only speak when I give you permission. Understand? Now, speak."
"Who are you?" Hadson asked. " It's strange. I feel like I have met you before but cannot find out who you are."
"Demn! You don't remember me? Oh, you may not, because I was pretty young then. Yeah, you're right. We've met before. And I do remember you! Now, I'll ask you a question. Well, how about asking like this? DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT YOU DID 10 YEARS AGO?"
Hadson was freezed. An unforgettable past clearly came up in his head.
"Yeah, right. Now you remember me, muderer?" The man asked again."You killed my parents and sisters with your car. I know it was rainning hard at that night and hard to drive your car but don't you think you were driving your car too fast? I suppose if you were keeping the driving rule and law, there was no possibility your car slips and hit my family, hah? I am the only one survived from the accident. Accident? NO! You ran away after getting off your car and saw us breeding and suffering from the terrible pain. It was a MURDER CASE! "
"Forgive me, please!" Hadson cried. " I was in a great hurry 'cause the doctor called me and said that my father was in danger because of the cancer! He was almost dying! I couldn't stop!"
"Right, your father's life and death are so serious and impotant for you, I know. Oh, how about my family's? Their lives were also precious and important for me! "
"I am sorry! I was so stupid..."
"Don't worry. You can make it equal. Just pay your life!"
"Don't do that! I have my own family, wife and daughters! How can they live without me?!"
"Why do I have to think such a silly thing? I'm not saying I will kill your family members but you! I am a kind person, don't you think so? You die, and everything's gonna be equal."
His face dissapeared from the window. Now Hadson tried to survive from this danger. Trying to cut the chane, shouting and calling somebody outside, but every his effort ended faultly.

The next day, there was a dead body of Hadson lying and chaned with the desk in the room. The cause of his dead was the suffocation with the chane. But there was no fingerprint except for Hadson's. There was no evidence that somebody came into the room and tried to kill him. The desk and chair Hadson was chaned seemed not to have been moved or used. The books were still in the book shelves as they were but some of them were spoiled and lying on the floor. Pictures, clocks and calendars were hooked on the wall tightly.
Now, can you find out how Hadson was killed?

Answers to friends of mine

Hi, friends! Some of you have given me the questions about my comment.
Now, I would like to give them back my answers.
What I was surprised at the best in Melbourne was the multicultural lives in Melbourne themselves. As I told you before in my last comment, there are many people from all over the world and all of them are the neccesary parts of the city. Each people respect their own culture and the others', too, so that in Melbourne I could feel the harmony of multi-cultures through the daily life.
The best food in Melbourne for me was the soft cerve corn(is my spelling OK, wundakim?) of MacDonald's! It is what we call in Japan, "Soft Cream". Really cheap, great taste, and much creams in it etc! It costs only 33 yen!
If I have a chance to go to Melbourne again, I would love to visit people took care of me so much! My host mother, teachers and other great people!
If you want to make smoothe at home, you should prepare fruit and vegitable you love, and I think you need some ice and MIX IT WITH THEMIXTURE!!!
Have a good cup of smoothee☆(^0^)

About Melbourne

Kita-tyo 24 , Okagana city, Tokyo, Japan
〒600-1456
Dear Eikens and some of the friends from other courses,
Hi! How have you been these days? I have been fine. Today,
I would like to talk to you about a great city, Melbourne, Australia!
I went there when I was 16 years old. The trip was kind of a class
trip and we stayed some families' houses and we had not known
each other. Yes, homestay. Staying there for three weeks , I got
many precious experience and memories so I would like to
introduce you the attractions of Melbourne.
Melbourne is a big city in Australia and there you can see a
muti-curture. Many tribes, religions, architeture, histories
and so on. You can see a Australian, European, Chinese,
Betnamese, Koreans, Japanese and other people from all
over the world. Since each people regard their own culture
as a precious one and are proud of it, you can find characteristics
of their own in some parts of the central city. For instance, there
is a small China town where many Chinese or Taiwanese live in
the east side of the town. And also, there is Swanston St. running
long across the town and you can try Vetonamese Food, Indian Food etc.
Next to Swanston St. Elizabeth St. is running and at almost the
end of the street, there is the biggest market in Melbourne. It's
calld Queen's Victoria Markets. I would love to poudly recommend
you to go there because there you can buy many kinds of food,
goods, clothes, aqcesarries, and many others. I know a really
good hotdog stand near the entrance. It's so a famous one that
people always make lines nearby and they are eager to buy
hotdogs earlier than others so be sure you won't defeated!
At the center of the city, there is Melbourne Central. On the
1st floor, I found a wonderful smoothee shop. You can order
your own smoothee or juice made of flesh vegitable and fruit.
My favorite is the one made of mango , banana, strewberry and
carott. What would be the best for you?
If you like the sea, you should go to Sent Kilda. After the
30-minute ride, you can find beautiful view and environment.
What do you say to having BBQ party under the sunshine and
by the sea?
Here I have introduced you many good points of Melbourne
but yet I haven't done enough!Just try them eventually! May
Melbourne bring you happiness.
Your sincerely, purplegang40
